Tree Height Growth Modelling Using LiDAR-Derived Topography Information

چکیده

The concepts of ecotopes and forest sites are used to describe the correlative complexes defined by landform, vegetation structure, stand characteristics relationship between soil physiography. Physically heterogeneous landscapes such as karst, which is characterized abundant sinkholes outcrops, exhibit diverse microtopography. Understanding variation in growth trees a topography important for sustainable management. An R script detailed stem analysis was reconstruct height histories individual (steam analysis). results this study reveal that topographic factors influencing silver fir can be detected within stands. Using modelling, we classified into groups with significant differences growth. This provides sound basis comparison site may useful calibration models various tree species.

Accuracy of tree height estimation based on LIDAR data analysis

Some modern remote sensing technologies, including LIDAR (LIght Detection And Ranging), have significantly developed recently. Laser scanners mounted on the airborne platform make it possible to collect very precise information over large areas, including tree and stand heights. A literature review shows that the model-based method of tree height determination underestimates this parameter in c...

Application and Precision Analysis of Tree height Measurement with LiDAR

Light Detection And Ranging (LiDAR), is a system of laser detection and distance measurement installed on aircraft or satellites. Because of its high angular resolution, high range resolution and anti-jamming characters, the objects heights on the earth surface can be acquired precisely with LiDAR. In forestry application, LiDAR with spot size smaller than 1m can acquire thousands of laser poin...

Clustering of Point Patterns Derived from Lidar Canopy Height Data

High intensity canopy height LIDAR data affords model-based estimation of tree locations. The analysis of spatial point patterns is a natural extension of this modeling capability. Identification of within-stand clusters (features) of trees deviating significantly in height from those of surrounding trees (clutter) is important for inventory and forest management purposes. We demonstrate a nonp...

A linear regression method for tree canopy height estimation using airborne lidar data

Tree canopy height is one of the most fundamental measurements in forest inventory and is a critical variable in the quantitative assessment of tree (or stand) volume, forest biomass, carbon stocks, growth, and site productivity. In this study, we analyzed two traditional methods for tree canopy height estimation and designed a new linear regression method for improved tree canopy height estima...

Lidar-equipped Uav for Building Information Modelling

The trend to minimize electronic devices in the last decades accounts for Unmanned Airborne Vehicles (UAVs) as well as for sensor technologies and imaging devices, resulting in a strong revolution in the surveying and mapping industries. However, only within the last few years the LIDAR sensor technology has achieved sufficiently reduction in terms of size and weight to be considered for UAV pl...
